The online casinos, which purportedly admitted even minors, used Roblox’s virtual currency, Robux, allowing its users to participate in gambling games such as slots and blackjack.

In August of last year, Roblox, a famous video game platform with an estimated 80 million daily active users, was sued in the United States.

The legal lawsuit, filed by parents of minors who used the network’s virtual currency to access casino gambling, accused the company of illicit activity and named it as a defendant.

While the case gathered pace in September of this year, a fresh report claims that multiple “Robux” casinos across the ocean in the United Kingdom accepted millions of pounds in wagers per month.

Roblox’s fight with online casinos using its virtual currency continues.

Sky News discovered that a trio of casinos that employed Roblox’s virtual currency, Robux, served about 2.8 million monthly visitors.

That is the case with Bloxmoon, RBLXWild, and BloxFlip, three online casinos that, according to the journal, allowed children to swap Robux for their own virtual chips and play blackjack, slots, and roulette, among other games.

Potential gains from Robux casinos were then converted to cryptocurrency and cash. While it is unclear how many casino users were underage, the analysis reveals that minors as young as 16, 14, and even 12 were frequent gamers on platforms that violated Roblox’s terms and conditions.

Previously, the popular platform claimed that casinos and other sites that use its virtual currency are in violation of Roblox’s terms and conditions. A spokesman for Roblox acknowledged that the site does not sponsor or allow any online casinos.

While Roblox stated that it has allocated an entire team to dealing with such threats and illegal attempts, it welcomed additional actions by law enforcement and regulators to aid in the fight and bring the accountable owners of such websites to justice.

Roblox has improved its parental controls and safety measures in an effort to better monitor and limit children’s activities.

“We have a dedicated group focused on identifying potentially fraudulent activity on Roblox and we work collaboratively with law enforcement authorities where possible to pursue the owners of such websites,”

According to a Roblox spokesman

The UK Gambling Commission will look into the Robux Casinos.

Some of the aforementioned websites that used Robux for online gambling have been taken down. Unfortunately, clones of the original websites emerged with similar web addresses. Roblox’s representative stated, “Our efforts have met with some success, but we would welcome further law enforcement action and vigilance from web hosting providers to shut down sites like this.”

The Robux casinos were aware of the actions taken against them. According to reports, in one of the casinos’ official chatrooms, a moderator advised players to use specific software solutions, such as VPN, to avoid potential geo-blocking in the UK or other jurisdictions. “We are handling the situation,” an online casino employee wrote.

In light of the study, the UK gambling authority, the Gambling Commission, acknowledged the commencement of an investigation into Robux casinos, which allowed underage players to spend thousands of pounds every month.

Andrew Rhodes, the Commission’s chief executive, said that the criminal investigation is ongoing and stated that the regulator will attempt to identify the true owners of the casinos. Rhodes also made it clear that operating illegal gambling websites is against the law, making their owners criminals.
