He was excited about the prospect of adding mixed martial arts because he was a former MMA organizer, but his team has persuaded him to prioritize basketball first.

Former MMA organizer and Halal sportsbook creator Zaid Abu Soud wants to add a lot more sports to his app. Fans may presently forecast soccer game results using the cutting-edge app without breaking Shariah, but Abu Soud wants to take it a step further.

Taking Bets Without Using Money

A novel prediction app called Hajem Sports aims to simulate the thrill of sports betting without actually placing bets. The software, which is accessible to users in the United Arab Emirates, does not actually qualify as sports betting because it does not entail monetary wagers. Fans can still increase their involvement in the sport and test their sports knowledge by making predictions, though, because it still puts them closer to the action.

The app is a lot like sportsbooks that people in the West would know. However, since there is no financial stake, participants can play in safety and without breaking Shariah.

We wanted to give the Arab or Muslim user a skin in the game without committing a vice.

As an example, Hajem Sports gives customers five credits each day so they can wager on their preferred soccer matches. Users can accrue in-game points for making accurate guesses.

Users can climb and descend a leaderboard based on their point totals, demonstrating to their peers that they are the superior sports commentators.

Financial Gains Are Not as Important as Excitement

At first, Abu Saud aimed to simulate the thrill of gambling without making participants feel bad about breaking Shariah. He clarified that they can satisfy their desire to wager at Hajem Sports without having to deal with the vices of real-money games.

Hajem players compete with their loved ones to demonstrate to them that they have a deeper understanding of sports and are more adept at making predictions, rather than focusing on making money.

According to Zaid Abu Soud, a lot of casual gamblers don’t place large bets. The majority of Western gamblers use the apps for some extra pleasure and excitement rather than in hopes of winning money. As a result, he realized that eliminating the real-money component may still produce some excellent user experiences.

In order to fund the app, how does he earn money? Hajem Sports provides a range of repurchaseable features, like skins and avatars, in place of bets, enabling users to customize their game experience. This way players can still support the app without gambling.

In his thoughts on Hajem Sports’ future, Abu Soud expressed enthusiasm for the company’s entry into new markets. His staff has instructed him to first push for basketball, but as a former MMA organizer, he was excited about the prospect of adding mixed martial arts. Hajem’s team will probably also include esports, which have been gaining traction in the area.
