The percentage of young gamblers increased
The current Public Opinion Survey was issued just a few days after the Spelinspektionen released a new study on teenage gambling, which highlighted a rise in the percentage of younger players.
According to the authorities, new gaming verticals like skin gambling and gambling streams have resulted in an increase in gambling among teenagers and young people.
The Spelinspektionen recognized that many student gamblers utilized student financing or income to fund their gaming. To make matters worse, several students took out loans to gamble.
This was particularly frequent among guys aged 23 and 24, who are generally thought to have less control over their gambling behaviors.
In other news, Svenska Spel, Sweden’s state-owned gambling operator, claimed that non-risky consumers accounted for a significant portion of its income.
The operator reported a solid revenue share of 93.9% in Q4, which was similar with Q3 results. However, total revenue from non-problem players climbed by 1.5% in 2024, indicating a healthy trend.
