Psy – Solaire Resort Ambassador: Elevating Entertainment in the Philippines

Philippines-listed Bloomberry Resorts Corp has named South Korean artist Psy (shown left) as the brand ambassador for the company’s two casino resorts in the country.

The corporation operates the Solaire Resort & Casino in Manila, the Philippine capital, and the Solaire Resort North gaming complex in Quezon City, northeast of Manila, which opened in May. Psy Solaire Resort Ambassador will brighten things up.

The cooperation comes after Psy’s recent “full-house performance” at The Theatre at Solaire Resort & Casino on September 14, which the business stated demonstrated the K-pop star’s appeal in the Philippines.

The release quoted Cyrus Sherafat (shown, right), Solaire Resort executive vice president and head of gaming, as stating, “We are thrilled to have Psy as our brand ambassador. His talent and charisma appeal to audiences not only in Korea, but all across the world.”

Mr Sherafat stated that the collaboration with Psy demonstrates the group’s “commitment to delivering unforgettable experiences” to its customers and deepens “engagement with the vibrant Korean community in the Philippines”.

According to the statement, Psy’s job as brand ambassador would include a variety of promotional events “with the aim of enhancing Solaire Resort’s cultural and entertainment offerings”.

South Korea remains the Philippines’ leading source market for international tourists, accounting for about 1.32 million arrivals in the first ten months of 2024, or nearly 27 percent of the total. The tally from that market increased by 11.4 percent year on year.

According to some investment analysts, South Korean punters have dominated the VIP segment at the country’s casinos this year.

Bloomberry Resorts reported a combined net loss of less than PHP470.2 million (US$8.0 million) for the three months ended September 30, compared to a PHP1.95-billion profit a year earlier.

The company recorded consolidated net revenue of PHP13.67 billion in the third quarter, a 27.2 percent decrease from the previous year’s quarter. Operating costs and expenses for the period increased by 55.2% year on year to PHP11.67 billion.
