Four guys attempted to abduct Andrey “TTR” Nikolaev and put him into a vehicle, most likely in exchange for money, but Nikolaev managed to escape.

The gaming industry is frequently the subject of criminal activity. While some criminals believe that robbing a casino is a good idea, others would rather engage in unlawful gaming and earn greatly—at least until they are apprehended.

Although criminals may target casinos, CEOs of iGaming companies may also fall prey to illegal activity. Recent reports indicate that a well-known iGaming entrepreneur managed to evade an abduction attempt.

Attack on Andrey “TTR” Nikolaev in Portugal

This is the situation with Andrey “TTR” Nikolaev, a well-known businessman in the online gaming industry who was allegedly attacked lately in Portugal. Ocean Affiliates, a well-known affiliate in the gaming industry, is one of the several online casino gambling platforms that Nikolaev is renowned for having founded. Prior to the popularity of online casino game streaming, he was also one of the first gamblers to do so.

For a few years, Nikolaev resided in Portugal. According to NEXT.io, which cited data from Nikolaev’s Telegram channel, the iGaming entrepreneur was targeted over the weekend by a bunch of unidentified attackers. Following the event, the businessman reportedly made recordings and pictures public, showing evidence of violence, including a cut on his face and many bruises.

So far, Nikolaev was returning home from a workout at a gym. At some time, four masked guys approached the businessman and doused him with pepper spray before attempting to shove him into a car. The kidnapping attempt failed, as Nikolaev was able to extricate himself from the intruders’ hands. Perhaps his rigorous physical training played an important part in this process.

While Nikolaev was able to release himself, it is unknown whether police in Portugal have made any arrests or suspect anyone in the blood-curdling kidnapping plot. So yet, nothing is known save that law enforcement is still investigating the situation.

Another Executive Was Recently Attacked.

The new kidnapping attempt follows an attack on another gaming executive earlier this year. Tim Heath, CEO of Yolo Group, successfully thwarted an abduction attempt earlier this year. Details of the incident were revealed in October at a hearing in the criminal case against one of the accused assailants of the businessman and entrepreneur.

Heath’s kidnapping attempt began at the end of July, when several intruders entered his apartment complex. The offenders, disguised as handymen, attempted to abduct him but were unsuccessful. Heath successfully pushed off the assailants, who fled the crime scene in a rental vehicle.
