According to Alejandro Tengco, chairman and CEO of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor), almost 2,000 new and modern slot machines will be operational “by the middle of December” at the agency’s own-brand Casino Filipino venues.
“The first batch has been delivered and … will be going live in the middle of December this year,” according to Tengco. His comments were made on Tuesday, during a press briefing hosted by Macau-based casino equipment provider LT Game Ltd.
Pagcor operates a network of land-based casinos (as shown) throughout the Philippines under the Casino Filipino brand. The network has over 40 branches and so-called’satellite-casinos’ that operate in leased venues from other parties.

The regulator earlier announced an upgrading to its Casino Filipino franchise, which included the purchase of 3,000 additional slot machines. The modernization initiative is expected to be completed before a process for disposing of the Casino Filipino network is initiated, since Pagcor intends to stop its operating functions and focus on regulatory work.
In September, a first batch of 1,968 slot machines were delivered from RGB International Bhd, a casino equipment supplier and distributor.
The contract had a total value of just over $81.3 million. The order comprised electronic gaming machines from third-party companies, including 888 Light & Wonder, 888 Aristocrat, 150 Konami, and 42 KL Saberi.
On Tuesday, Mr Tengco also stated that Pagcor planned to launch the second batch of slot machines in the “early part of 2025”.
The head of Pagcor stated in September that the privatization of the agency’s gaming venues will begin in 2026, rather than mid-2025. In his comments at the time, Mr Tengco stated that Pagcor’s charter would need to be revised first.
“We still need to alter Pagcor’s charter. So next year will be set aside for the revisions,” he said, as reported by local media.
Mr Tengco told reporters at the time that the sale of Pagcor casinos was expected to yield approximately PHP50 billion (US$847.8 million now).
