The jackpot is estimated to be $670 million, with a cash option of approximately $320 million if won in the next drawing.

Friday the 13th is almost here again. While some cultures consider the day unfortunate, or perhaps the unluckiest day of the year, lucky lottery players have won enormous sums of money on such dates.

That is the case for numerous Michigan lottery players who won big earlier this year, with rewards ranging in size. With Friday the 13th just hours away, many Americans will most certainly try their luck with the increasing Mega Millions jackpot.

The lottery game’s most recent drawing was on Tuesday. Several players accurately matched all winning numbers, with the exception of the Mega ball, allowing the grand prize to rise. While an estimated $619 million jackpot was up for grabs on Tuesday, the Mega Millions big prize is already approaching the mind-blowing $700 million mark.

According to an estimate from the famous lottery game, the grand prize for the upcoming drawing will be $670 million. If an extraordinarily fortunate player matches all of the winning numbers in the forthcoming draw, they can also choose a cash option worth $317.8 million. The next Mega Millions drawing is scheduled for Friday, December 13.

The odds of winning the top prize in Mega Millions are always the same, regardless of how many players buy tickets. The odds of winning the prize are 1 in 302.5 million.

Several players collected Tier Two prizes

In the most recent drawing, four participants properly matched the winning white balls, 12, 14, 26, 48, and 52. One of the tickets belonged to a very lucky Florida player who paid extra for the game’s Megaplier option and won $5 million.

The remaining three tickets, one in Maryland and two in California, received the regular $1 million prize.

On the other side, nearly three dozen fortunate participants won a tier-three prize by accurately matching four white balls and the red Mega ball. Six players purchased Mega Millions’ Megaplier option, raising their prize to $50,000 each.

On the other hand, the remaining 23 players received the customary $10,000 reward each.

Recently, the winner of a Mega Millions jackpot in California, who had already won half of the reward, filed a lawsuit seeking the remaining half. The case was filed earlier this month, however the artwork in question dates back to December 8, 2023.

The fortunate player, who has already won $197.5 million, claimed that he also bought a second identical ticket, which is why he is entitled to the entire $394 million jackpot.
