Cloud9 has apparently secured a new mid laner for the next 2025 season: Lee “Loki” Sang-min, who joins from LCK Challengers, will make his NA debut.
Loki – another Korean import joins Cloud9.
According to Sheep Esports, Loki has verbally agreed to join Cloud9 as the team’s starting mid lane in 2025. The squad has been looking for a new player this summer after Jojopyun left to join MDK in the LEC.
Cloud9 is notorious for importing Korean talent, having previously signed EMEN3s, Berserker, and Thanatos. Once again, the NA squad chose from the LCK Challengers League, with C9 apparently considering Dplus KIA Challengers mid lane Kang “Saint” Sung-in for the job.

Big changes are coming for C9.
C9 is coming off a poor season that saw the squad fail to qualify for Worlds 2024. Despite having one of the greatest rosters in the competition, C9 struggled in the latter parts of the season, eventually falling to 100Thieves in the LCS Championship.
ADC Berserker was about to quit the group after three years. Jojopyun has recently been confirmed to join MDK. Zven, who has elected to return to the AD role, was chosen to replace Berserker, with Loki being the final piece to complete the puzzle for 2025. Aside from Zven, Loki will join top laner Thanatos, jungler Blaber, and support Vulcan.
Loki’s professional playing career to date
The Korean mid lane began playing competitively in 2022, training with HLE Academy before moving up to HLE Challengers in 2023 as a substitute and starter this season. In 2024, he placed fourth and sixth in Spring and Summer, respectively.
While he did not have the finest individual stats in LCK Challengers, he will now get the opportunity to prove his worth in a tier-one competition alongside a top-tier roster.
