Hector Fernandez has resigned as CEO of Aristocrat Gaming, the Australian gambling giant’s land-based subsidiary, to take a position with an undisclosed competitor. Fernandez’s resignation concludes a six-year term with the company, during which he held numerous key positions, including CFO of the Americas Gaming business unit and CEO of Aristocrat Gaming.
Craig Toner, former CFO and EVP of operations at Aristocrat Gaming, has been named Fernandez’s successor, starting immediately. The appointment is subject to necessary regulatory approval.
Toner brings a plethora of expertise to the CEO position, having spent over seven years at Aristocrat in various leadership capacities in both Australia and the United States.

His career at the company began in Sydney, where he progressed through several business finance and operations responsibilities before moving to Las Vegas three years ago to take on his current post.
Before joining Aristocrat, Toner spent 20 years at Lion, one of Australia and New Zealand’s major beverage companies, where he held key positions in strategy, operations, and commercial management.
Trevor Croker, Aristocrat’s CEO and managing director, showed confidence in Toner’s leadership abilities:

Croker emphasized Toner’s abilities to facilitate a smooth transition and continue carrying out the company’s strategic ambitions.
“Aristocrat Gaming today is a global team with extraordinary resilience, depth and momentum, and I have every confidence that Craig will continue to build on this going forward, with the support of the many talented leaders across our global business,” he told reporters.
Croker also highlighted Fernandez’s accomplishments while at Aristocrat.
“We thank Hector sincerely for his commitment and recognise his contribution to our business over the last six years” according to Croker.
