Genius Sports and Infront, a Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) technology partner, have agreed to use Infront’s tracking capabilities.

The goal of the partnership is to deploy Genuis’ monitoring technology throughout Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 in France.

In the meanwhile, the LFP’s technology and data services are a part of a larger collaboration that also includes betting rights, some media rights, and digital and technology services, which are driven by the company’s innovation arm, Infront Lab.

“Infront has shown their commitment to ensuring the LFP remains at the forefront of football innovation through this partnership,” stated Martin Aurenche, Chief Media Officer of LFP Media.

To be more specific, LFP will get access to GeniusIQ, the AI and data platform of Genius Sports. This will enable the league organization to have a single, integrated system that will aid with player and game analysis.

“We are thrilled about the innovative data insights that GeniusIQ will bring to our league, which will improve not only the fan experience but also give coaches and clubs useful tools to improve their performance.”

Viewers in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 will also be able to see data tracking details in real time. Infront will be in charge of coordinating the technology with the LFP.

AI and machine learning will give LFP coaches and analysts data-driven performance tools that will improve post-match analysis, in-game decision-making, and training. Key tracking findings will also be shown to viewers in real-time during augmented, data-driven broadcasts.

“Infront, LFP, and Genius Sports have a shared vision for utilizing cutting-edge technology to improve French football on and off the field,” said Jack Davison, Genius Sports’ chief commercial officer.

“With GeniusIQ, we’re thrilled to start this new collaboration and position the LFP at the forefront of data innovation. The foundations for unmatched fan engagement are provided by GeniusIQ, which powers enhanced, data-driven broadcasts and helps coaches identify their competitive advantage.

Genius Sports confirmed earlier this month that it will achieve a corporate goal from its NYSE IPO by generating positive cash flow in 2024.

The announcement came after the brand’s Q3 trade results, which surpassed company expectations with revenues of $120 million, which was 18% more than the comparison figure of $101 million for 2023 and higher than the $119 million planned estimate.
