Five offshore online casinos have received cease-and-desist orders from the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) for breaking state gaming regulations.

The unlicensed operators are Orion Stars 777 Players (Sichuan Province, China), Coins Game Casino (Curaçao), Love2play Casino (Curaçao and Costa Rica), BetWhale Casino (Curaçao), and Black Lotus Casino (TD Investments Ltd., Belize).

“In addition to breaking Michigan’s gaming laws, these illicit platforms endanger consumers by providing erratic withdrawal methods and lacking crucial consumer safeguards,” stated MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams.

“Safeguarding Michigan residents by ensuring that all online gaming activities are carried out legally and securely is our top focus. These operators must cease their operations or risk further legal repercussions,” he continued.

The Lawful Internet Gaming Act, which permits only licensed casinos to lawfully offer online gaming in Michigan, is one of the state regulations that these operators are breaking, according to the MGCB’s research.

In the meanwhile, unauthorized gaming services are considered a felony under the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, which carries fines of up to $100,000, 10 years in jail, or both.

Furthermore, gambling including consideration, prize, and chance is generally forbidden by the Michigan Penal Code, which makes it unlawful to take money for games of chance without permission.

These platforms have stringent withdrawal policies, frequently demanding players to bet their original deposits several times before they can access their profits, even though they accept Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, and cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum.

The operators in Michigan have been given 14 days by the MGCB to stop operations. The board will work with the Michigan Attorney General’s Office to take legal action if they don’t cooperate.

Before placing a wager, citizens of Michigan are encouraged to confirm the legitimacy of online casinos.
