In February 2025, the three casinos in Detroit recorded monthly aggregate revenue (AGR) of $98.8 million. Retail sports betting brought in $815,561, while table games and slots brought in $98.0 million.

Taxes, Slot Revenue, and Table Games Monthly
In February 2025, table game and slot machine revenue at the three Detroit casinos fell 6.4% from the same month the previous year. The income during the month of February was 4.2% less than that of January 2025. Compared to the same period last year, the income from table games and slots at the Detroit casinos grew by 0.8% from January 1 and February 28.
The casinos’ monthly gaming revenue results all decreased compared to February 2024:
• MGM, down 5.9% to $46.4 million
• MotorCity, down 10.1% to $28.4 million
• Hollywood Casino at Greektown, down 2.7% to $23.2 million
The three casinos in Detroit paid $7.9 million in state gaming taxes in February 2025. For the same month last year, they spent $8.5 million. Additionally, the casinos stated that they paid the City of Detroit $11.7 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments in February.

Revenue and Taxes from Retail Sports Betting Each Month
For the month of February, the three casinos in Detroit reported a total retail sports betting handle of $8.2 million and gross receipts of $820,450. In February, retail sports betting qualified adjusted gross receipts (QAGR) decreased by $1.7 million from January 2025 and increased by $940,414 from February 2024.
The casino’s February QAGR was:
- MGM: $202,085
- The motor city is $566,313
- Greektown’s Hollywood Casino: $47,163
Based on their retail sports betting earnings, the casinos reported paying $37,679 in wagering taxes to the City of Detroit and $30,828 in gaming taxes to the state in February.

Operators of fantasy contests reported $1.3 million in total adjusted income and $109,531 in taxes paid in January 2025.
