To protect the integrity of the local gambling business, the Philippine Amusement and gambling Corporation announced today that it has ordered one of its licensees to withdraw its sponsorship of an online TV program that portrays women without bras.
After learning about the sponsorship of the contentious TV show hosted by a well-known actor through an internet podcast, PAGCOR Assistant Vice President for the Electronic Gaming and Licensing Department, Atty. Jeremy Luglug, said he promptly contacted the licensee in question.
Mr. Luglug declared, “We will not allow any of our licensees to support such advertising for such a sex-oriented and degrading show.”
He explained that the licensee is a Filipino and not a foreigner as the online podcast claimed, and that the licensee does not own the aforementioned show that features women who are almost completely nude.
Because only adults have access to gaming websites and the electronic wallets used to place bets, the PAGCOR official further denied allegations that young people are becoming addicted to gambling.

“To make sure that only people who are 21 years of age and older can play, our licensees have very strict Know Your Customer, or KYC, protocols,” he stated. “And our e-wallet providers are no different.”
However, he stated that it might be possible for children to participate through unauthorized and unregulated online gaming sites that are not PAGCOR-registered.
For this reason, we implore everyone, but especially our parents, to make sure that children cannot access websites that are meant only for adults.
“To maintain the integrity of the gaming industry, we also encourage players and gamers to only visit PAGCOR-licensed gaming operators,” Mr. Luglug continued.
